As a Boston engagement photographer, I’ve spent years exploring this city’s most photogenic corners, and let me tell you, we’re spoiled with beauty! Whether you’re imagining lush gardens, cobblestone streets or waterfront views, Boston has it all when it comes to planning your engagement session.

Here are a few of my favorite locations in Boston for engagement photos. Perfect for couples looking for timeless, romantic and that Boston feel.

🌸 Boston Public Garden

If you’re dreaming of floral backdrops, romantic willow trees and elegant stone bridges, Boston Public Garden is a classic choice. It’s stunning in every season! Cherry blossoms in the spring, glowing greenery in the summer, golden tones in the fall, and even quiet snowy beauty in the winter.

The light here is soft and magical, especially near golden hour. Plus, it’s easy to stroll over to the edge of Commonwealth Ave or the Arlington St. gates for a quick change of scenery.

Pro Tip: Weekday mornings or early evenings are best to avoid heavy crowds!

🏡 Beacon Hill Neighborhoods

Beacon Hill is like stepping into a storybook. With its gas lanterns, ivy covered brick buildings and charming cobblestone alleys (hi, Acorn Street!), it’s no wonder it’s one of the most iconic places in Boston for engagement photos.

This area is especially dreamy for couples who love a blend of New England charm and classic elegance. We’ll wander side streets, find that perfect little doorway and capture sweet moments against timeless backdrops.

Pro Tip: Bring comfy shoes to change into between shots. The cobblestones are no joke but totally worth it.

🌳 Fan Pier Park

Looking for that skyline meets water vibe? Fan Pier Park in the Seaport District is a total gem. With views of the Boston Harbor and city skyline, this spot offers a more modern, coastal vibe while still feeling romantic and intimate.

The light here glows beautifully at sunset, making it perfect for dreamy, golden hour portraits. It’s also ideal for couples who want a slightly more urban feel with the iconic city in the background.

Pro Tip: Add in a little champagne pop for some fun, celebratory shots!

🌊 Charles River Esplanade

This location blends nature and city effortlessly. The Charles River Esplanade offers sweeping water views, quiet walking paths and hidden little docks where you can cozy up and enjoy the breeze. It’s peaceful, romantic and just far enough from the hustle of the city to feel like your own little world.

From bridges to willow trees to sailboats in the background, this is one of the most versatile engagement photo spots in Boston.

Pro Tip: Sunset sessions here are gorgeous and there’s enough variety nearby to get a mix of waterfront and greenery in one shoot.
